1. Why Istanbul?
We had the option to do exchange in Germany or Switzerland also. But I think Istanbul is more multicultural. I’ve been in Europe and I saw the European culture. If you’re looking for a different place and a different culture maybe to travel or maybe to meet diffrent people, you should definitely come to Istanbul. That was my personal choice and I think it was a good choice. I really like Istanbul.
2. What was your doubts before you come and which ones have changed?
There were some doubts before coming to Istanbul because there were some attacks and etc. Some of my friends didn’t want to come. But I was really clear that I wanted to come to Istanbul and once I came to Istanbul I did really feel that there was nothing to be scared. It was really safe. I don’t think anyone who thinks to come to Istanbul should think the otherwise. It is such a beautiful place and you’ll actually love it when you arrive.
3. What is the best thing that happened to you in Istanbul?
I came to Istanbul for exchange and I’ve met a lot of good people and a lot of good esners like Bilge who’s doing the interview with me () They are really helpful and they made my life in Istanbul very easy. I could easily get things done. The people here are every helpful. If you know some Turkish it would be really fine but you don’t need to. I’ve made some really good friends and people in erasmus. And we’ve been traveling to the places like the Black Sea, Cappadocia, Cumalıkızık (Bursa). I really love to be a part of Turkey. The culture is so different, the people are so helpful. I really recommend you to come here and make friends. You will have the best experience.
4. What do you want to say to those who want to do Erasmus in ITU?
Try and come to Istanbul for erasmus. I mean there is nothing like it. I have friends who went to Germany and Switzerland for exchange and it’s nothing like you have in Istanbul. You can just go to Beşiktaş or Istiklal and you can find the best party places. You can have the most amazing time by traveling and the most amazing friends. You don’t need to go anywhere to find anything. You will have everything here in Istanbul.
